Ben studied a dual bachelors degree of Sustainable Agriculture (Agronomy major) and Agribusiness at the University of Queensland, with a keen interest in soil science, soil health and soil-plant relationships.
After completing university in 2020, Ben began working as an agronomist for Ag Plus Consultancy in Bundaberg QLD. Learning from senior agronomists with great experience, Ben developed his skills and understanding across horticulture systems. As tree crop systems macadamias, citrus and avocados were the main focus, Ben worked with growers throughout the Bundaberg, Mundubbera and Sunshine Coast areas, undertaking soil testing, fertiliser recommendations, and monitoring for pest and disease. Being able to work with people who had great soil science and soil health knowledge allowed Ben to continually develop his skills on the areas he is passionate in, which he will continue to do with the range at De Sangosse. Ben is excited to use this passion to continue developing both plant nutrition and rodenticide ranges across Queensland and provide farmers and growers with agronomic solutions.
Growing up on a cattle farm near the little town of Glenmorgan, 1.5 hours south-east of Roma, Ben’s love for agriculture started from a young age. As his parents still live on farm, Ben enjoys going home to help whenever he can and hang out with his beloved cows. He is also a keen player and follower of rugby league, along with many other sports, and appreciates spending time with his family and mates every chance he gets.
